Steve Light has 18 years of experience in the related fields of enterprise performance management (EPM), OLAP database design, data modeling, custom application development, documentation, and project management. Steve is currently the senior manager in charge of the global Hyperion solutions group at TransUnion. He has a proven track record of success with large-scale, mission-critical integrated system implementations. Steve acted as an integral team member at many Fortune 500 companies and at a number of small to mid-size businesses as a consultant, systems architect, project manager, subject matter expert (SEM), and manager.
Steve’s focus over the past 15 years has been the design and implementation of comprehensive EPM OLAP solutions for major retail, banking, service, consumer product, and manufacturing companies across the United States and Canada. These applications often combine complex financial calculations and allocation logic with driver-based planning, chargebacks, and rolling forecasts. Steve excels at both creating complex multidimensional calculations and optimization of Oracle Essbase and Hyperion Planning, and is certified on Essbase versions 4, 5, 6, 7, 9.0, 9.3, and 11 and on Hyperion Planning 11.
Steve is also an active trainer and mentor for both internal employees and clients. He has conducted numerous end user, developer, system administration training classes. Steve is a frequent speaker on forecasting and OLAP related topics. He has giving presentations at Oracle OpenWorld, Hyperion Solutions, Connection Point, MOUS, NCOAUG, a number of regional user groups, and presented live webinars. In addition to speaking; Steve has written a number of white papers on forecasting, allocations, and centers of excellence.
